Yura Yura Penguin and Ghost Blitz
Today we discuss two unique party games: Yura Yura Penguin designed and published by Ryoko Yabuchi and Ghost Blitz designed by Jacques Zeimet and published by Zoch Verlag! Yura Yura Penguin is what you’d expect if you’d put Uno, Jenga and adorable penguin artwork in a blender. The game is simple: on your turn you’ll take whatever action was played by the previous player and then play a card with a matching color. You’ll need to be careful though, each card action will require you to place pieces on a constantly growing tower of fowl, ice and makeshift platforms. The player that topples the iceberg, loses! Ghost Blitz on the other hand is all about pattern recognition and speed. Every round a player will reveal a card that shows multiple caricatures which correspond to objects on the table. The goal is to identify either what color and or object is missing, or what object is represented exactly. The player to guess first and grab the object gets to keep the card. Whoever has the most cards when the deck runs out wins!
